Huangshan in Anhui Province is famous for the top three tourist attractions in eastern China. One is the Yellow Mountains, and the others are the ancient Hongcun and Xidi Villages. I decided to visit Huangshan to explore the most beautiful Hong Village, UNESCO World Heritage Site, during my two-week solo trip to China. I had simply the best experiences and enjoyed each moment, so why not you explore too? Here is the photo story of the most scenic ancient Hongcun Village to inspire a visit.
Hongcun Village is about 900 years old and is located in Yi County of the Anhui Province. The population is only 1500 in total 28 hectares area of the Hong Village.
It mainly highlights ancient residences and courtyards from Ming And Qing dynasties. You’ll love the well-preserved beautiful countryside of this village. The charming landscape is the top attraction among all the tourists. It is fun to walk and explore the small village, shop the local products and souvenirs, and eat from the village eateries.
Moreover, photography is the ultimate fun for rural architecture and landscape. I loved the beautiful settings of the Hong Village. It says that the village was constructed in the shape of an Ox. But the entire village seemed to me like a canvas where every object was painted with so much fondness and love. There is no way to regret visiting and especially a must-visit for history and nature lovers.

Best Time To Visit
In China, naturally beautiful destinations are always best to visit either in Spring or Autumn. March and April months are best to visit the ancient Hongcun Village. I visited during Spring in April. You may also prefer to visit in November during the Autumn season.

How To Get To Hongcun Village
The easiest option is to take a tour bus from Downtown Huangshan. It will take one and half an hour to reach Yi County from Tunxi Bus Station. Every 15 to 20 minutes, buses depart from Yi County Bus Station to Hongcun Village. You can also go by private car or taxi.
I preferred to join a group tour by bus from Huangshan to reach the Hongcun Village directly. A half-day tour was arranged with the help of one local tour company. We had a lady guide to lead the group tour. After reaching the village, you have to collect the entry ticket and everything included with the tour package except food cost. At the end of the tour, all got a drop-off at each hotel/hostel by the same bus.
